A University of Wisconsin-Stout student from Haiti has learned that two immediate family members, a brother and sister, are safe but that other relatives and friends died in the devastating Jan. 12 earthquake that hit the country's capital city. Cleandfee Alexandre, 26, who is majoring in engineering technology, said that his sister who lives in the capital, Port-au-Prince, narrowly escaped unharmed from a bank where she was working when the quake damaged the building.
