Once Upon a Time in Mexico

The attention Mexico has received from the media in the past year has made me eager to share my own experiences in Mexico. This is partially because I feel that most Americans, especially those in the Midwest, know little about Mexico. People's knowledge of the country generally stems from news of violence and drug cartels or vacations at all-inclusive resorts, neither of which accurately represent the country.

Is UW-Stout actually aiding obesity?

The University of Wisconsin-Stout seems to be upholding a form of hierarchy when it comes to student athletes, or lack thereof. Since I enrolled at UW-Stout in 2005, it wasn't my lack of motivation that got me out of shape; it was the lack of locations to burn off the calories.

UW System Students Dismayed by Doyle Veto

MADISON, Wis. (Dec. 15, 2009) - On Monday, Gov. Jim Doyle vetoed a bill that would have required some members of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents to be from certain geographic areas of the state. The Board of Regents is an 18-member body that appoints top officials, sets admission standards, approves university budgets and determines UW System policies.

Just a Thought

Friedrich Nietzsche said, "All truly great thoughts are conceived by walking." I do not claim to be a deep thinker by any means; I confess that I am in possession of no great thoughts. I am, however, an incredible walker. People stop me on the street to compliment my walking skills.
