The University of Wisconsin-Stout women’s basketball team has been prevailing despite the snow and slush. On Dec. 15 forward Megan Maslowski, a senior, was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) athlete of the week due to steady performance and her contribution to a three-game win streak.
The University of Wisconsin-Stout men’s basketball team proved just how much talent it holds. It won numerous games and beneficial awards for great season achievements, all while the rest of the university was away on winter break. Some Blue Devil players broke out of their basketball shell while showing potential, and other upper classmen players demonstrated talent and success.
Although it ended abruptly, the 2009-10 season gave foresight to a bright future for the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre’s “heir to the throne,” boasted his second consecutive 4,000-yard passing season. Fourth in the National Football League with 30 touchdown passes this season, Rodgers has shown he is fully capable of being the man under center without a foreseeable shelf life.

Although heavily favored, the Vikings lost the game due to an unprecedented missed field goal by Gary Anderson.
The University of Wisconsin-Stout hockey team has started to head in the right direction, earning a 3-2-0 record over winter break. In the games preceding break, UW-Stout went on the road to sweep NCHA rival, the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, at Hunt Arena 6-1, 6-5.
